Our Story

Express Group of Companies was founded in 2007 by Thomas Phillip Tibbetts IV and his wife and partner, Kristine “Kris” Tibbetts, with a shared vision to create high-quality, affordable housing and build communities that make a lasting impact.

From the beginning, Tom and Kris built more than just a business—they built a company rooted in purpose, driven by a passion for helping others, and grounded in strong relationships. Together, they established Express Development, Express Building, and Express Management as a fully integrated organization focused on development, construction, and long-term property management.

Tom was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, determination, and ability to bring projects to life. He approached each development with both strategy and heart, believing that quality housing could positively change lives and communities.

Continuing the Legacy

Following Tom’s passing in 2014, Kris Tibbetts stepped into the role of President and has led the company for over a decade with strength, vision, and resilience.

Under her leadership, Express Group has continued to grow while staying true to its original mission—creating and preserving affordable housing opportunities for families across the region.

Today, Kris works alongside her son, who serves as Vice President, continuing the family legacy into the next generation. Together, they lead the company with a hands-on approach, ensuring every project reflects the values the company was built on.

Our Leadership

Kris Tibbetts

Kris Tibbetts is the President and co-founder of Express Group of Companies, where she has led the organization since its founding. She oversees all aspects of the company’s operations, including development, construction, and property management.

In addition to leading Express Group, Kris serves as President of Express Development, Inc. and Express Building, Inc., playing a key role in guiding projects from initial planning through completion and long-term operations.

Kris has been instrumental in building and growing the company into a fully integrated organization, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality affordable housing and maintaining successful communities. Her leadership spans both strategic direction and day-to-day operations, ensuring consistency, performance, and long-term value across the company’s portfolio.

Known for her hands-on and relationship-driven approach, Kris works closely with her team, partners, and stakeholders to uphold the company’s core values of integrity, quality, and service.

Today, she continues to lead the organization alongside her family, guiding its continued growth and future direction.

Michael Tibbetts

Michael Tibbetts serves as Vice President of Express Group of Companies., where he leads the company’s development and construction operations.

He has played a key role in the continued growth of Express Group, expanding its affordable housing footprint across Oklahoma and into Kansas. Michael brings experience across the full development process, including planning, project coordination, and construction oversight, with projects spanning both rural and urban markets.

With a focus on delivering high-quality, sustainable housing, Michael works closely with partners, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure each project aligns with the company’s long-term vision.

Working alongside President Kris Tibbetts, Michael helps guide the company’s ongoing growth while continuing the family-led vision of Express Group of Companies.

Thomas Tibbetts

Thomas Tibbetts serves as a Closing Manager and Project Manager at Express Group of Companies, where he supports the successful execution and delivery of development and construction projects.

In his role, Thomas oversees key phases of project completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with contractors, engineers, architects, and suppliers. He plays an important part in ensuring each project meets quality standards and is delivered efficiently.

With experience across multiple areas of the construction process, Thomas brings strong organizational and problem-solving skills to the team. He is committed to supporting project success while contributing to the continued growth of Express Group.
